SAM PARTINGTON FROM LANCASHIRE CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE VIDEOS IN SHOCKING CASE

A disturbing case has emerged involving Sam Partington, a man from Lancashire, who was found to possess horrifying child abuse videos depicting infants as young as four years old.

The investigation, carried out by Cumbria Police, uncovered a series of heinous crimes linked to the 30-year-old suspect, revealing a pattern of malicious activity that has shocked the local community and law enforcement alike.

Partington was brought before Preston Crown Court after authorities discovered that he had hacked into a woman's social media accounts, specifically her Facebook and Snapchat profiles.

The court heard that he stole private photographs from her accounts and subsequently altered the login details, effectively locking her out and preventing her from regaining access to her personal information.

This act of digital intrusion was just one facet of his criminal behavior, which extended into the possession and distribution of illegal images.

When police executed a search of Partington's devices, they uncovered hundreds of indecent images and videos involving children being sexually abused.

The evidence was found stored across three separate devices, including an iPhone.

Notably, some of the files were concealed within what appeared to be a calculator application, a tactic often used by offenders to hide illicit content from casual inspection.

The severity of the material found was described as deeply disturbing, with the court being shown the extent of his illegal collection.

During the sentencing hearing, Recorder Daniel Prowse emphasized the gravity of the crimes committed.

He stated, “Each one of the children shown in those images and videos is a real child being sexually abused.

Some involved the most serious and damaging types of sexual abuse.

Some of the children depicted were particularly vulnerable due to their age.

The harm, both physical and psychological, that is caused to children who are the subject of this sort of abuse can be lifelong in nature.” In his remarks, the judge acknowledged that the Covid-19 lockdown and the loss of employment had contributed to Partington’s offending.

The court was told that he had been spending extended periods alone in his bedroom, which may have exacerbated his behavior.

Despite these circumstances, the court noted that Partington had previously held a “good job” and was seeking mental health support at the time of his arrest.

Partington, who resides on Cecil Street in Lytham, denied having any sexual interest in children.

However, Recorder Prowse dismissed these claims, stating, “The evidence in this case demonstrates comprehensively to the contrary.” The judge also remarked that it is not uncommon for individuals with such disturbing interests to struggle with the realization of their own tendencies.

Ultimately, Sam Partington was sentenced to 29 months in prison.

His convictions included hacking offenses under the Computer Misuse Act, violations of the Data Protection Act, and charges related to the possession of indecent images of children.

The investigation was part of Operation Alliance, an ongoing initiative by Cumbria Police aimed at tackling serious and organized crime.

Detective Constable Jon Hill from the Cyber and Digital Crime Unit of Cumbria Police commented on the case, stating that Partington “used technology as a weapon to exert control,” highlighting the malicious intent behind his digital crimes and the importance of ongoing efforts to combat such offenses.
