According to reports, Mahmoudi was observed by witnesses as he approached the woman on London Road, a busy thoroughfare in the city. After initially engaging with her, the pair moved together across the city to Falkner Street, passing near Crown Street and Oxford Street.
It was at an abandoned structure in the vicinity that Mahmoudi committed the assault and rape. The attack left the victim traumatized, and her ordeal was eventually brought to light through a lengthy and meticulous investigation conducted by local authorities. In addition to his prison sentence, Mahmoudi has been subjected to a 15-year Restraining Order, which prohibits him from contacting or approaching the victim.
