ARBROATH CREEP MESSAGED ‘13-YEAR-OLD’ FOR NUDE BATH PICTURES
A predator from Arbroath, Sali Saliev, admitted to sending lewd social media messages over a two-month span to a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl. The article describes how Saliev used Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp to communicate from his home in Arbroath between August and October 2021.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that the suspect connected with the decoy’s Facebook profile, initiating contact and referring to her as ‘baby’ and ‘princess.’ When the girl mentioned her age, Saliev confirmed he was 34 but expressed willingness to continue chatting.
Throughout the conversation, he asked for pictures of the girl, and although she sent ordinary images, he insisted on sexy photos.
Saliev sent pictures of himself and attempted a video call with the profile.
The conversation escalated to WhatsApp, where he requested her to take a bath so he could take nude photos, promising secrecy with the words: “No-one will know, it will be our secret.” He also sent lewd pictures, including one with a sex toy.
Members of the vigilante group Maximum Exposure Scotland confronted Saliev at his home, where he initially denied involvement but later admitted to the messages, claiming it was a joke.
Police seized his phone and a memory stick showing the indecent communications and images, including the sex toy.
Saliev pleaded guilty to charges of sending nude images and attempting to cause a child to view a sexual image.
His sentencing has been deferred until next month for reports, and he has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
The article notes that he is due to begin seasonal work on a strawberry farm in Angus.
