LONDON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE IN GRIM MURDER AMID UK IMMIGRATION PLEA
According to reports, Salah Nashia, aged 52, was found guilty of murdering his former wife, Ghada Habib, in west London during September 2010.
Nashia attacked her with a hammer over a sustained period, striking her 19 times on the head, which resulted in her death.
Court proceedings revealed that the motive behind the killing was Ghada's refusal to endorse his UK immigration application.
After the incident, Nashia searched her residence for cash and stole a jewelry box, which he later used in an attempt to attract a woman’s interest.
The Old Bailey jury was informed that Nashia's actions were driven by concerns over his immigration status; prosecutors argued that he depended on Ghada’s support to remain in the UK, and her refusal provoked a lethal response.
He was sentenced to a minimum of 19 years’ imprisonment.
