MET POLICE OFFICER DENIES SEXUAL ASSAULT ON FEMALE COLLEAGUES
A Metropolitan Police officer named PC Saif Iqbal, aged 28, is facing trial on allegations that he sexually assaulted two female colleagues. The incidents reportedly took place between October 2020 and November 2021, happening on and off duty.
The officer has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of sexual assault by intentional touching.
He appeared at Harrow crown court, sitting at Hendon magistrates court, and the case was adjourned until a trial scheduled for June 9 next year by Judge John Lodge.
The judge expressed regret over the delay, explaining that the wait is due to the necessity of allocating trial slots for custody cases within legal time limits.
The charges relate to two women, who are also police officers.
Iqbal has been suspended from duty during the ongoing criminal proceedings and was granted bail with a condition not to contact the alleged victims.
He denies all charges.
