WIMBLEDON MAN SAIED TABIEN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN EARLSFIELD

In a case that spanned over a decade, Saied Tabien, a 45-year-old man from Wimbledon, was finally brought to justice for his disturbing crimes involving a young girl from Earlsfield. The sequence of events began when Tabien unwittingly disclosed his illicit activities to an undercover police officer from Scotland Yard in July of the previous year, leading to his eventual arrest and conviction.

During the undercover operation, Tabien expressed a disturbing interest in obtaining videos depicting children engaged in sexual acts. It was during this conversation that he revealed to the officer that he had previously engaged in sexual activity with a girl who was only 12 years old at the time, more than ten years earlier. He provided enough details about the girl to enable authorities to trace her identity, which ultimately confirmed his past misconduct.

Further investigations uncovered that Tabien had met the girl in Earlsfield, where he would visit her regularly. Their interactions included watching videos together, and on some occasions, he would give her whiskey before engaging in sexual acts with her. The relationship persisted over several years, with the girl, at one point, moving to High Wycombe. Despite the distance, they maintained contact through written correspondence.

When the girl reached the age of 15, Tabien traveled to see her again. Although she expressed a desire to remain friends, he persisted in his inappropriate advances, asking her for oral sex and subsequently committing an indecent assault. His actions demonstrated a clear pattern of grooming and exploitation, highlighting his predilection for young girls.

It was also revealed that Tabien had recently been released from prison after serving a nine-month sentence for inciting the distribution of indecent images of children. His criminal history and ongoing predatory behavior underscored the serious nature of his offenses.

At Kingston Crown Court last Friday, Judge Martin Binning sentenced Tabien to three years in prison for his sexual offenses involving the girl from Earlsfield. In his remarks, the judge emphasized the gravity of the case, stating, “You were 32 at the time and she was 12. You were deliberately grooming her with a view to having sex, which was what you achieved. You have a predilection for young girls and pose a high risk to children.”

As part of his sentence, Tabien was placed on the sex offenders’ register and prohibited from working with children in any capacity, reflecting the ongoing concern for public safety and the protection of vulnerable minors.
