In October 2019, a serious criminal case emerged involving Ryan Neary, a 20-year-old resident of Burnley Road, Accrington, who faced multiple charges related to the possession of indecent images of children. The case was brought to light when Neary appeared before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to several serious offenses.

During the operation, officers found and confiscated electronic devices, including phones and computers, which contained the illegal images.

During police interviews, Neary openly admitted to the charges.
He explained that he had met a girl online from the United States and had engaged in online gaming with her.
He claimed that she had sent him the indecent images and video clips via Skype.
Neary stated that he had not shared or distributed these images but had kept them on his devices.
The case was adjourned for sentencing, which is scheduled to take place at Burnley Crown Court on November 11.
The court ordered that reports on Neary’s background and circumstances be prepared to inform the sentencing process, emphasizing the gravity of the offenses committed and the need for appropriate legal action.
