Ardrossan Rapist
In a serious case heard at Edinburgh High Court, Ryan Montgomery, a 38-year-old resident of Burns Terrace in Ardrossan, has admitted to engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The incident in question occurred in February 2016, involving a 14-year-old girl who was the victim of his inappropriate conduct.

Montgomery appeared before the court to face charges related to the sexual abuse. Initially, he was charged with the more severe offence of child rape. According to court reports, the young girl had clearly stated that she had rejected Montgomery’s sexual advances. Despite her refusal, Montgomery allegedly continued to force himself upon her, which led to the initial charges. However, the charge of child rape was later dropped during the proceedings, leaving the case focused on the unlawful sexual activity.

The court was informed that Montgomery’s actions constituted a serious breach of trust and legal boundaries, given the age of the victim and the nature of the offences. As the case progressed, bail was denied to Montgomery, and he was remanded in custody. The judge ordered that Montgomery remain in detention until the sentencing hearing, which was scheduled for August 11, 2017.

Throughout the proceedings, Montgomery’s legal situation remained tense, with the court emphasizing the gravity of his actions and the impact on the young girl involved. The case highlights ongoing concerns about safeguarding minors and the importance of strict legal measures to protect vulnerable individuals from sexual exploitation and abuse.
