RYAN MCDOUGALL FROM DUNFERMLINE CAUGHT IN DRUNKEN THREATENING CALL FROM BENIDORM
A man from Dunfermline found himself in legal hot water after a drunken phone call made during his holiday in Benidorm led to serious charges.Ryan McDougall, aged 20 and residing on Plane Grove in Dunfermline, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face the consequences of his actions.
On March 16, McDougall admitted to making offensive remarks during a phone call with his former partner.
The court was told that during this call, he also issued repeated threats of violence against a male associated with her.
Specifically, McDougall declared that he would stab the man once he returned from his holiday in Benidorm.
His verbal abuse extended to his ex-partner as well, with the court hearing that his words were aggressive and hostile.
The incident was reportedly triggered by a social media post that showed his baby being pushed in a pram by another man.
This image appeared to provoke McDougall’s angry reaction, which he expressed over the phone while intoxicated.
The court was informed that his reaction was immature and fueled by alcohol, with his solicitor, Amy Harley, describing the threats as empty and not meant to be taken seriously.
As a result of his actions, the court imposed a fine of £210 on McDougall.
Additionally, he was ordered to stay away from his ex-partner and the associated male for a period of nine months, under a non-harassment order designed to prevent further incidents.
The case highlights the consequences of alcohol-fueled behavior and the importance of respecting boundaries, even when emotions are running high.
