DUNFERMLINE MAN RYAN KERR FACES COURT OVER DOMESTIC ASSAULT IN HOPE STREET
Ryan Kerr, aged 23 and residing on Hope Street in Dunfermline, made an appearance before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to answer charges related to a domestic incident.Kerr pleaded guilty to assaulting his partner by pushing her during an altercation that took place on January 1 at an address located in Dunfermline.
According to the prosecution, depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf, the incident occurred after the woman had been out socializing with a friend.
Upon her return home, an argument erupted between her and Kerr.
During this heated exchange, Kerr physically pushed his partner, an act that was deemed assault.
In his defense, solicitor Peter Robertson explained that Kerr was experiencing mental health difficulties at the time of the incident.
He further stated that these issues were worsened by Kerr’s use of cannabis, which may have influenced his behavior during the confrontation.
After considering the case, Sheriff James MacDonald imposed a fine of £210 on Kerr as a penalty for his actions.
The court’s decision reflects the seriousness with which domestic assault cases are treated, emphasizing accountability and the importance of addressing underlying mental health concerns.
