RYAN HUNT FROM NORWICH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST CHILDREN NEAR CANTLEY
A man from Norwich, Ryan Hunt, has been sentenced to serve three years and three months in prison after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses involving minors. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about Hunt’s actions, which spanned several years and involved exploiting vulnerable young girls for his own gratification.
According to the evidence presented at Norwich Crown Court, Hunt, aged 28, began his criminal conduct when he was just 16 years old.
It was during this time that he forcibly sexually assaulted a young girl, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions.
The court heard that Hunt not only assaulted her but also laughed during the incident, indicating a disturbing lack of remorse.
The court was also informed that Hunt had engaged in sexual activity with another girl on the night before her 13th birthday, and this inappropriate conduct continued over a period of time.
Hunt, who resides at The Green, Freethorpe, near Cantley, had denied the charges brought against him.
These charges included sexual assault of a child under 13, which allegedly took place between 2008 and 2012, and ongoing sexual activity with a different child between 2014 and 2015.
Despite his denials, a jury found Hunt guilty after a trial, confirming the allegations against him.
During sentencing, Judge Katharine Moore addressed Hunt directly, emphasizing the gravity of his actions.
She stated, “There was a disparity in age, power and circumstances between you.
Your victim was desperate for affection and you played upon this for your gratification.” The judge’s comments underscored the manipulative nature of Hunt’s conduct and the vulnerability of his victims.
As part of his punishment, Hunt was not only sentenced to imprisonment but also received a ban from working with children and vulnerable adults.
This restriction aims to prevent any future harm and protect others from potential exploitation by Hunt.
The case highlights the importance of safeguarding minors and the serious consequences faced by those who abuse their trust.
UPDATE: Ryan was released after serving just 20 months in prison.
He has connections in Norwich, Freethorpe and Alysham.
