RYAN HERON SENTENCED TO 17 MONTHS IN PRISON IN DUNFERMLINE FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND ABUSE
A 29-year-old man named Ryan Heron has been sentenced to 17 months in prison after he assaulted his former partner and directed abusive language towards her.Heron was convicted by a jury of several offences following a court trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
On April 17, 2021, Heron attacked his then-partner at a residence on Henryson Road, Dunfermline, lunging towards her.
The original charges included kicking her in the body, repeatedly punching her head, and grabbing and squeezing her neck.
However, these specific allegations were later dropped from the charges.
Additionally, Heron was found guilty of shouting, swearing, and making abusive comments directed at the woman during the same incident.
Two days later, on April 19, 2021, at Westwood Place, Dunfermline, Heron was convicted of repeatedly shouting, swearing, and making offensive remarks towards police officers.
He was also convicted of breaching his bail conditions—specifically, not to enter Dunfermline—by being present on Gilfillan Road and elsewhere on September 8, 2021.
Sheriff Charles Macnair addressed Heron, stating: “The allegation of physical contact has been deleted but this was still a very frightening assault on the complainer and involved a domestic aggravation.”
