ROY MCKECHNIE SENTENCED IN LONDON FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN IN THE 1990S AND 2000S
In a significant case that has shocked the London community, Roy McKechnie, a 53-year-old man residing on Goldsmith Road in the SE15 area, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term following his conviction for multiple serious sexual offenses committed against minors.The proceedings took place at Croydon Crown Court on Friday, 29 March, where McKechnie received a total sentence of 19 years behind bars for his heinous crimes.

On 21 February, McKechnie was found guilty of three counts of rape, eight counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, and one count of indecent assault.

The case came to light after a woman, now in her 30s, stepped forward in October 2016 to report abuse she endured in January 1992, when she was only in her early teens.
She recounted to authorities that McKechnie, a man known to her, had sexually assaulted her at a residence in Sydenham.

Further investigations revealed that in December 2016, another woman, then in her early teens and now in her 20s, also came forward.
