ROWLAND REILLY AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN EDINBURGH
A 57-year-old man has admitted to committing a series of sexual offences against children that occurred across Scotland over a span of five years, from 1984 to 1989.The case was heard at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday, 10 November, where Rowland Reilly pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including indecent assaults.
Reilly's guilty plea marks a significant development in a case that has spanned decades, bringing some measure of closure to the victims who endured his abuse.
The court proceedings have highlighted the importance of justice and accountability, even after many years have passed since the crimes were committed.
The sentencing for Reilly is scheduled to take place at the Edinburgh High Court on Friday, 8 December.

Detective Inspector Anna Johnston issued a statement emphasizing the gravity of the case and the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to support victims of sexual crimes.
She stated, “Rowland Reilly now faces the consequences of his despicable and distressing actions.” Inspector Johnston also acknowledged the emotional toll these incidents have taken on the victims, noting that “the passage of time does not make these incidents any easier to talk about.
His victims have been incredibly strong in coming forward and disclosing the abuse they suffered.
Our thoughts remain with them and I hope Reilly’s convictions bring them some comfort and allow them to move forward with their lives.” She reaffirmed the police force’s dedication to protecting children and supporting victims, stating, “We remain committed to supporting victims of sexual crime and protecting children from harm and abuse.
We will use all available resources to find and arrest those responsible, no matter how much time has passed.
