A senior citizen faces imprisonment after being convicted in Jedburgh Sheriff Court of indecent assault against two young females.
Ronald Anderson denied the allegations, which involved molesting a nine-year-old girl at his residence in St Clairs, Eyemouth, during the period from April 2001 to April 2003.
He also contested charges of touching a 13-year-old girl’s breasts at a property in Selkirk between December 2003 and May 2005.
The younger girl testified that she had spent the night at Anderson and his wife's home, and that he entered the room where she was sleeping and touched her bottom.
She waited nearly 15 years before reporting the incident after seeing Anderson’s photo and growing worried he might be involved with children again.
The court found Anderson guilty of sexual assault and lewd conduct during the trial.
It was also disclosed that Anderson had previously served a 54-month prison sentence at Edinburgh's High Court in 1988 for similar crimes.
Her sentencing was postponed until December 10 to allow for background checks, and Anderson was meanwhile registered as a sex offender.
