NORWICH MAN ROCKY START SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX IMAGES
A Norwich man found with indecent images of children has avoided immediate custody after having an eight-month jail sentence suspended.
Rocky Start, 43, pleaded guilty to possession of both still images and videos of children - some of which were classified as category A, the most serious.
The material was discovered by police on his mobile phone in April 2023.
Appearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court the music events company founder also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer on August 1 this year.
Sarah Fiddy, prosecuting, said officers had been threatened with a candle holder after being called to his home address.
She said he had threatened to kill officers shouting: “I’m armed, Taser me.” Declan Gallagher, mitigating, said his mental state had been left fragile from being under investigation for child sex charges for over two years.
Magistrates sentenced him to eight months, suspended for two years, with an alcohol, treatment requirement and 25 rehabilitation days.
Start, of Wherry Road, was made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
