A 70-year-old man from Kelty, named Robert Walker, has made an appearance in court facing serious allegations of sexual assault. The incident reportedly took place at Walker's residence on Bluebell Grove, where he was accused of engaging in inappropriate and unlawful behavior towards a female victim.

According to court proceedings, Walker admitted to the charges that occurred on April 16. The allegations state that he sexually assaulted the woman by physically touching her breast, specifically by putting his hand up her shirt and exposing her breasts. Furthermore, he is accused of kissing and sucking her breasts, actions that constitute serious sexual misconduct.

The case was heard at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Simon Collins presided over the proceedings. The court was informed of Walker’s admission to the charges, and it was decided that he would be required to undergo further assessments, with sentencing scheduled for a later date. As part of the court’s decision, Walker was placed on the sex offenders register, a measure intended to monitor and manage individuals convicted of sexual crimes.

During the hearing, Sheriff Garry Sutherland commented on the unusual nature of the case, noting that it was a “bizarre situation” given Walker’s age and the fact that he was a first-time offender. The sheriff expressed his disapproval of the conduct, describing it as “despicable behavior,” and acknowledged that custody was a consideration. However, instead of imprisonment, Sheriff Sutherland opted for a community-based sentence.

Walker was sentenced to a community payback order, which includes 100 hours of unpaid work and a 12-month period of supervision. The court’s decision reflects a recognition of the seriousness of the offense, balanced with considerations related to Walker’s age and circumstances. The placement on the sex offenders register remains a key part of the sentence, ensuring ongoing monitoring of Walker’s activities in the community.
