ROBERT PAXON OF DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED FOR VIOLENCE AND DAMAGE
In 2017, The Courier Fife Edition reported on a serious assault involving a Dunfermline man, Robert Paxon, who caused permanent disfigurement to his partner.Paxon, 22, of Skibo Court, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced after admitting three offences.
On May 21 last year, on Carnegie Drive in Dunfermline, Paxon behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by repeatedly contacting his former partner, waiting outside her workplace, photographing the premises, and refusing to leave.
Later, on July 25 at Grampian Road, Rosyth, he pushed the woman during an assault.
Most disturbingly, on March 26 this year at his residence on Skibo Court, Paxon acted recklessly and culpably by hitting his ex-partner on the head with a metal e-cigarette.
This attack resulted in her suffering bruising, a permanent disfigurement, and required stitches to her cheek.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia explained, “There appears to have been an argument between them, and in a hissy fit and for no reason, the accused threw the e-cigarette he was holding.
It struck her on the head, resulting in bruising to her eye, and she needed stitches to her cheek.” During the hearing, defence solicitor Roshni Joshi noted that her client was a first-time offender and characterized the relationship as “volatile.” She added, “There was an argument and he says they were acting like children, attempting to damage each other’s property.
He was holding the e-cigarette and hit her in the face with it, having been slapped by her.” Sheriff Craig McSherry sentenced Paxon to a 24-month community payback order with supervision.
Paxon is also required to attend a domestic abuse group work programme.
