ROBERT MOSELEY SENTENCED IN LEICESTER FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGE GIRL
In a recent court ruling at Leicester Crown Court, Robert Moseley, a 55-year-old resident of Bowhill Grove in Leicester, was formally sentenced to two and a half years in prison for his involvement in the sexual abuse of a teenage girl. The court also imposed a stringent 10-year sexual harm prevention order to restrict Moseley's future conduct and protect potential victims.
The criminal case against Moseley revealed a disturbing pattern of abuse that spanned several years.
The victim, who was only 13 years old when the abuse began, endured Moseley's misconduct until she reached the age of 16.
The offences took place over a period from 2009 to 2013, highlighting a prolonged period of harm inflicted upon the young girl.
On May 10, Moseley was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault after a trial held at Leicester Crown Court.
Despite the conviction on these charges, he was acquitted of two additional counts of indecent assault.
The court also did not reach a verdict on five counts of sexual assault, and these charges will remain on file without a formal ruling.
Similarly, two counts of indecent assault did not result in a verdict, leaving those charges unresolved.
The victim came forward in April 2017, reporting the abuse to the police.
During her interview with law enforcement officers, she described Moseley's behaviour as not only abusive but also aggressive and controlling.
Her testimony provided crucial evidence that contributed to the conviction.
This case underscores the importance of reporting abuse and the judicial system's role in delivering justice for victims.
Moseley's sentencing and the restrictions imposed serve as a reminder of the serious consequences for those who commit such offences in Leicester and beyond.
