CHILD RAPIST GETS LIFE TERM FOR 'HORRENDOUS' CRIMES

A man who subjected a boy and girl to multiple rapes over several years has been jailed for life.

Humberside Police described Robert McLurey's crimes, which were non-recent, as "horrendous and violent".

McLurey, 45, formerly of Scunthorpe, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of nine years and four months at Grimsby Crown Court on Monday.

He was found guilty of nine counts of rape and one count of attempted rape after a 10-day trial in December.

In addition to his jail term, McLurey was handed a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will also be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
