ROBERT KIEDIS FROM AYLESBURY VALE SENTENCED FOR GROOMING TEENAGE GIRLS IN BUCKS

In July 2021, the community was confronted with the disturbing case of Robert Kiedis, a 43-year-old man who became the focus of a serious criminal investigation in the Aylesbury Vale area. Kiedis was found guilty of grooming two teenage girls, both under the age of 16, over a period exceeding one year. His actions, which involved manipulative and predatory behavior, have shocked residents and raised urgent concerns about safeguarding vulnerable youth in the region.

According to court proceedings, Kiedis admitted to the charges and expressed his intention to engage in sexual relations with the minors he targeted. The court heard that he had communicated with the girls in a manner that was both inappropriate and illegal, with the prosecutor, Edward Culver, revealing that Kiedis had also expressed a controversial opinion that the legal age of consent should be lowered from 16 to 14 years old. This statement underscored the disturbing mindset behind his actions.

During the trial, it was disclosed that Kiedis, who does not have a fixed address, also offered the girls alcohol and cannabis, further demonstrating his reckless disregard for their safety and well-being. The court was also informed of Kiedis’s criminal history, which includes multiple unrelated child sexual offences committed in Nottingham in 2013, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior.

Judge Alex Wright delivered the sentence, emphasizing the gravity of Kiedis’s crimes. He stated, “You recognize the impact on the victims but it’s troubling that nonetheless you went on and committed the offences. It’s necessary to impose an extended sentence to protect the public and especially young children and young girls.”

As a result, Kiedis was sentenced to three years in prison. Additionally, he was subjected to an extended two-year licence period, ensuring ongoing supervision after his release. The court also mandated that Kiedis be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely and imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order to restrict his future activities and interactions.

Kiedis pleaded guilty to two charges of engaging in sexual communication with a child and two counts of failing to comply with notification requirements, reflecting his acknowledgment of the offences. His case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and protective measures within communities like Aylesbury Vale to prevent such predatory behavior and to safeguard vulnerable young individuals from exploitation.
