In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hawarden, Robert Kelly, a man weighing approximately 20 stones, has been sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered a vast collection of illegal and highly disturbing child pornography on his personal computer. The case was brought to light during proceedings at Mold Crown Court, where Kelly, aged 23 and residing on Braeside Avenue in Hawarden, faced multiple serious charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images involving minors.

Investigators found that Kelly possessed an alarming total of 14,225 still images depicting child sexual abuse. These images included some involving infants as young as four months old, highlighting the severity and depravity of the material he had stored. In addition to the still images, law enforcement also discovered 81 video clips that contained similar content, further emphasizing the extent of his illegal activities.

During the court hearing, Kelly pleaded guilty to 13 charges of creating and downloading these illicit images from the internet. He also admitted to possessing a staggering number of 14,225 still images and 81 videos, with a significant portion of the images classified at the most severe levels of abuse, specifically 3,800 at level four and 1,249 at level five, indicating the most extreme form of child exploitation. The videos found on his device were categorized similarly, reflecting the gravity of his offenses.

Beyond the child pornography charges, Kelly also confessed to possessing an item of extreme pornography involving sexual acts between a human and a horse, which is considered a serious offense in itself. Furthermore, he faced five additional charges related to the distribution of these illegal images, underscoring his role in disseminating such material.

In sentencing, the court handed Kelly an 18-month prison term. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities post-release. To further prevent any future offenses, Kelly was also subjected to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which imposes strict conditions on his behavior and associations.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the proliferation of child exploitation materials and the importance of holding offenders accountable for their heinous crimes.
