COATBRIDGE MAN SENTENCED FOR ABUSIVE MESSAGES AND GIVEN UNPAID WORK
A MAN who sent threatening messages to a woman in South Ayrshire has been given unpaid work.
Robert Jeffrey pleaded guilty to sending abusive messages by electronic communication network on June 14, 2024.
The 43-year-old admitted sending messages and voicemails to the woman, who court papers state was his partner or ex partner, shouting, swearing as well as making offensive remarks and threats.
The complaint states Jeffrey, of Frederick Street, Coatbridge, committed the offence at an address known to the prosecutor within the jurisdiction of South Strathclyde and Dumfries and Galloway.
The charge states the offence was aggravated by abuse of a partner or ex.
Jeffrey was placed on a community payback order with will include 80 hours of unpaid work to be completed in six months.
He was also placed on a non-harassment order forbidding any contact with the complainer for the same period.
