ROBERT HINZ MURDERS THREE-MONTH-OLD BABY IN BOURNEMOUTH: HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE TRAGEDY

In a devastating case that has shocked the community of Bournemouth, a father named Robert Hinz, aged 34 and residing on Carysfort Road, has been convicted of the brutal murder of his three-month-old son, Julian Hinz.

The verdict was delivered on Tuesday, 28 March 2017, after a lengthy 12-day trial held at Winchester Crown Court, where the evidence against Hinz was thoroughly examined and presented.

Julian Hinz suffered catastrophic head injuries, including severe skull fractures, in April of the previous year.

Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the infant succumbed to his injuries the following day after life support was withdrawn at the hospital.

The court heard that the injuries inflicted on Julian were not isolated; he had previously endured fractured ribs, which were believed to have been caused by squeezing, indicating a pattern of ongoing abuse prior to the fatal incident.

On the afternoon of Friday, 8 April 2016, emergency services received a distress call reporting that a baby had stopped breathing at a flat on Carysfort Road.

Paramedics responded swiftly and found Julian unresponsive.

He was transported to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and later transferred to Southampton General Hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, where doctors discovered significant injuries, including head trauma, a fractured collarbone, and broken ribs.

Despite their best efforts, Julian was declared dead at approximately 5:10 am on Saturday, 9 April 2016.

The court was told that the cause of death was a severe blunt force head injury, which was believed to have resulted from Julian being thrown vigorously onto a hard surface or object.

Prosecutors argued that Robert Hinz was responsible for this act of violence.

The evidence indicated that on the day of the incident, Julian’s mother had placed him in his cot to sleep before leaving the flat to go shopping.

She described Julian as being in good health prior to her departure.

The cot was situated in the parents’ bedroom, with Hinz sleeping on a nearby bed at the time.

Approximately fifteen minutes after the mother left, neighbors reported hearing shouting, arguing, and a loud thud coming from the flat.

Hinz was heard shouting, “call an ambulance he is not breathing,” prompting his brother, Julian’s uncle, to enter the room and contact emergency services.

Hinz was seen attempting to perform CPR on Julian, which was confirmed by witnesses.

When paramedics arrived, they found Julian in cardiac arrest and unresponsive.

They administered CPR and oxygen before rushing him to the hospital.

Further evidence revealed that Hinz was seen punching a wall and throwing a cupboard door across the room in a fit of rage, actions that were witnessed by neighbors and recorded by police.

When officers arrived at the scene, Hinz was attempting to get into his car to follow the ambulance but was stopped due to the smell of alcohol on his breath.

He was subsequently taken to hospital under police escort.

Prosecutor Nigel Lickley QC emphasized that the injuries inflicted on Julian could not be explained by any accident or medical condition, stating, “The simple fact is that an assault caused the injuries to Julian Hinz.

They cannot be explained by any accident, medical condition or illness.

He was subjected to severe violence.” Medical examinations revealed that, in addition to the fatal head trauma, Julian had multiple other injuries, including bruises and fractures, which had occurred over a period of days, weeks, or months.

The extent of these injuries indicated that significant force had been used repeatedly, underscoring a pattern of ongoing abuse.

The court’s verdict confirmed that Robert Hinz was responsible for the tragic death of his young son, a case that has left the Bournemouth community in mourning and seeking justice for the innocent victim.
