Coleraine Londonderry Child Sexual Abuser
In a case that has shocked the communities of Coleraine and Londonderry, Robert Hill has been sentenced to four years in prison for engaging in sexual activities with a vulnerable 13-year-old girl. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about Hill's actions and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Robert Hill, whose address was listed as Brook Street, Coleraine, faced multiple charges related to his inappropriate conduct. He pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and one count of performing a sexual act in the presence of a minor. The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the offenses and the vulnerability of the young girl involved.

According to court records, Hill initially met the girl through a social networking site. Prior to their in-person meeting, Hill sent her a sexually explicit photograph of himself, which was a key piece of evidence presented during the trial. The court heard that Hill and the girl eventually met in his flat located in the city center of Londonderry. Their encounter involved them lying on his bed and sharing kisses. The court was also informed that Hill touched her chest and genitalia during the meeting, and he engaged in masturbation in her presence, actions that constitute serious sexual misconduct.

During police interviews, Hill admitted to sending the explicit photograph but claimed that he was encouraged to do so by the girl herself. He also stated that he believed she was over 16 years old and insisted that she had initiated most of their contact. These claims were challenged by the court, which emphasized the girl’s vulnerability and the long-standing issues she faced. It was noted that the incident with Hill had significantly worsened her existing problems, highlighting the damaging impact of his actions.

The judge sentenced Hill to a total of four years in prison. Additionally, he will serve two-and-a-half years behind bars, followed by an 18-month period on license after his release. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online interactions and the importance of protecting minors from exploitation and abuse in both digital and real-world settings.
