ROBERT GREENS AND SHOCKING CRIMES IN EDINBURGH AND SOUTH QUEENSFERRY

Robert Greens, a notorious sex offender known as the Da Vinci rapist for his heinous attack near Rosslyn Chapel in Midlothian, has once again found himself at the center of violent incidents in Scotland.

The 44-year-old was recently involved in an incident at his ex-wife Angela Gibson’s residence in Penicuik, Edinburgh, where he was discovered hiding in a cupboard by a family member.

This confrontation occurred on a Friday night when relatives of Angela Gibson became enraged upon finding Greens in her home.

According to reports, Greens had been seen frequenting Angela’s residence around Penicuik, despite her having distanced herself from him since his release from prison last year.

The discovery prompted an immediate confrontation, leading to a physical altercation.

Family sources expressed their ongoing frustration, highlighting that Angela's relatives were furious over her apparent willingness to associate with Greens again, especially considering his criminal history and the fact that he had served time in prison.

This recent incident is part of a disturbing pattern of violence involving Greens.

Just a week earlier, Greens was assaulted outside a pub in Midlothian’s Hogmanay celebrations, after a night out drinking in the town.

Witnesses claim he was behaving provocatively inside a local sports bar, being loud and cheeky, before refusing to leave when asked.

The bar staff asked him to leave, but he became involved in an argument with another patron.

Greens then announced he would return with relatives, indicating a threat of further trouble.

As Greens exited the Crescent sports bar, he was involved in a violent clash on John Street.

Witnesses describe him as being egocentric and disrespectful, acting as if he was entitled despite being a convicted sex offender who had served a 17-year prison sentence.

Onlookers expressed their disbelief that he was freely roaming around during the New Year celebrations, branding him a hazard to the community.

They emphasized that people in Midlothian still harbor strong feelings of anger and resentment towards him.

Greens’s troubled history has made him a target of local protests and concern from residents.

Back in October, residents of Danderhall, Midlothian, protested after discovering he was living among them in Neatoune Court.

It is believed that Greens has since vacated that flat, but his presence has caused significant outrage in the areas where he has been spotted.

His criminal record dates back to 2005, when he committed his infamous attack near Rosslyn Chapel—a location made famous by the book ‘The Da Vinci Code.’ Greens, then 19, inflicted horrific injuries on his victim, initially thought to be a car accident victim.

His crimes earned him the moniker 'the Da Vinci rapist.' After initially being released from prison in 2012, Greens breached several conditions of his parole, notably visiting his ex-wife’s hometown, which resulted in him being returned to jail.

He was released again in 2017 but was rearrested following another violation.

Most recently, on April 25 of the previous year, Greens was involved in a violent assault in South Queensferry.

During this incident, he pinned his former wife against a fence on Scotstoun Avenue and threatened her with a bottle.

The attack escalated when he grabbed her by the face and struck her on the head, causing injury.

Greens was subsequently arrested and charged with assault.

While in custody at HMP Edinburgh, Greens was found in possession of a SIM card, a banned communication device, between May 2 and 11.

He pleaded guilty to both the assault and the illegal possession of the mobile device during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this month.

The court also found Greens guilty of threatening and abusive behaviour, after he was recorded shouting, swearing, acting aggressively, making threatening remarks, and repeatedly hitting a bus shelter in South Queensferry on April 25th.

Sheriff Douglas Keir sentenced Greens to a prison term of 27 months, which was backdated to April 27 of the previous year.

Additionally, Greens was issued a non-harassment order forbidding him from having any contact with the victim for the next two years.

These incidents underscore the ongoing concerns surrounding Robert Greens’ presence in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, illustrating a troubling pattern of violent and provocative behavior that continues to threaten community safety.
