ROBERT FIELDEN'S SHOCKING SEX OFFENSES IN STOCKTON REVEALED IN COURT
In August 2018, a disturbing case unfolded in Teesside Crown Court involving Robert Fielden, a man from Stockton, who was found guilty of sexually abusing a young schoolgirl.The case gained significant attention after the victim recorded a conversation with Fielden, during which he confessed to his inappropriate actions and used manipulative tactics to threaten her.
According to court proceedings, the young girl managed to secretly record her interaction with Fielden, during which he admitted to having engaged in abusive behavior towards her.
In the recording, which was played in court, Fielden stated, "I messed with you, which I shouldn’t have done." This candid confession provided crucial evidence that led to police intervention.
Following the recording, law enforcement officials were called to investigate the allegations.
It was established that the abuse took place at Fielden’s bedsit located in Stockton.
The court heard harrowing details about the impact of the abuse on the victim, who has struggled immensely since the incident.
Her mental health deteriorated to the point where she attempted to harm herself, including trying to strangle herself with a dressing gown cord and overdosing on medication.
Her mother and close friend described her transformation from a seemingly normal girl into someone suffering from severe emotional and psychological issues.
The victim has been battling self-harm and other mental health challenges, which her family attributes directly to the trauma inflicted by Fielden.
Prosecutor Aisha Wadoodi emphasized the extent of the psychological damage, stating that the girl has endured "severe psychological harm" as a result of the abuse.
The court was also informed that Fielden, aged 55 and residing on Thornaby Road in Stockton, admitted to three charges of sexual assault during the proceedings.
Judge Deborah Sherwin sentenced Fielden to 40 months in prison, reflecting the gravity of his offenses.
During the sentencing, the judge criticized Fielden’s attitude during his police interview, noting that he claimed his actions were not motivated by sexual gratification.
Judge Sherwin found this assertion difficult to accept, especially given the evidence of his manipulative behavior.
She pointed out that Fielden had minimized his conduct and had effectively blackmailed the victim by repeatedly asking, "Do you want me to go to jail?" during their recorded conversation.
This coercive tactic was seen as a clear attempt to control and intimidate the young girl, further aggravating the severity of his crimes.
