MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR DOMESTIC MURDER IN AYLESBURY
Robert Dunson, aged 54, was found guilty by a jury at Reading Crown Court for the murder of his wife, Jean Dunson, aged 47, on 4 May 2011 at their home in Bicester Road, Aylesbury.
An autopsy confirmed that she died from multiple stab wounds.
Although initially denying the charge of murder, Dunson pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
He was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years.
The chief crown prosecutor described the incident as tragic, noting that the attack took place in front of their 17-year-old autistic son.
Following the attack, Dunson locked his son in his bedroom to shield him from witnessing the aftermath.
Detective Chief Inspector Vince Grey, who led the investigation, expressed the hope that justice would bring some comfort to the family, recognizing the emotional impact on Jean’s relatives and the distress caused to her son, who observed part of the event.
