In September 2017, Sedani pleaded guilty to sexually touching a pupil and sending lewd messages, resulting in a one-year prison sentence that was suspended for two years.
This earlier conviction was based on his inappropriate conduct with a student at a school in central Bedfordshire, where he was employed at the time.
The case took a darker turn when, following media coverage of his initial conviction, a second victim came forward.
She disclosed that Sedani had also sexually abused her, beginning when she was just 15 years old.

She shared her feelings of betrayal and sadness, stating, “I thought that I was special and that Mr Sedani actually liked me.
I was really upset when I found out that this had happened to someone else.” Her relationship with her family was strained during this period, as they suspected something was wrong but were unaware of the details.
She confided that she wanted to tell her parents but felt unable to do so, overwhelmed by shame and fear.
In October 2019, Sedani was found guilty of five counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Despite the severity of his actions, the court opted to sentence him to 12 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, citing his remorse and the impact on his family.
The judge, Judge Barbara Mensah, emphasized the breach of trust and the distress caused to the victim, stating that teachers are expected to protect their students, not exploit them.
As part of his sentence, Sedani was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years, attend a sex offender treatment program, and refrain from working with children in the future.
