In October 2014, Ricky Lee Tomlinson, a resident of Cauldon Drive in the Holme Hall area of Chesterfield, was involved in a series of vandalism incidents across the Derbyshire region.His actions included spray-painting the face of a horse, defacing another horse with paint on its blanket, and damaging various public and private property such as signs, doors, walls, and a bin.
These acts took place in the Unstone and Dronfield areas, causing concern among local residents and authorities alike.
Tomlinson’s initial plea of not guilty was ultimately rejected by the magistrates, who found him guilty on all charges.
The court proceedings led to a sentence that included a three-month jail term, which was suspended for a period of 12 months.
Additionally, he was subjected to an eight-week curfew, restricting his movements during specified hours.
The court also ordered him to pay a total of £1,085 in compensation to the victims, along with £310 in legal costs and a £115 victim surcharge, reflecting the seriousness of his actions and the impact on the community.
