WELSHPOOL SEX OFFENDER FAILED TO TELL POLICE OF NEW ADDRESS
A sex offender from Welshpool has been sentenced after he failed to tell police of his new address.
Ricky Jones, of Cefn Coch in Welshpool, admitted failing to comply with the notification requirements of being on the sex offenders register.
Telford Magistrates Court was told last Wednesday (November 12) that at Oswestry, between August 20 and 27, this year, Jones had failed to tell police of his new address within three days.
The 36-year-old had pleaded guilty at the court in October.
Magistrates gave Jones a 12-month community order, reduced from 18 months for his early guilty plea.
It will include 250 hours of unpaid work.
Jones must also pay £85 court costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
