During the court proceedings in September 2013, Stewart described Peggy as his “best friend,” a statement that starkly contrasted with the brutality of his actions. The video footage revealed Peggy cowering near a door at Stewart’s home, visibly frightened and submissive. As Stewart struck her repeatedly, he was heard swearing and calling her a “dirty bastard.” The footage also captured Stewart’s callousness as he turned to his friend, laughed, and asked, “Is that enough?” before discarding the vacuum attachment on the floor.
