Great Harwood Domestic Abuser
Richard Quinn, a prominent East Lancashire businessman and former chief executive of the now defunct Q Entertainment, Arts and Sport, was involved in multiple violent incidents. He attempted to organize a festival in June 2021 that would have featured Nile Rodgers and Chic but the event was never held. In February 2022, shortly after marrying his wife following meeting her during the lockdown period, conflicts arose. On October 2022, a confrontation occurred at his home when he arrived uninvited and an argument broke out after his wife confronted him about message exchanges with another woman. During the altercation, Quinn became aggressive, grabbing her by the hair and pulling her to the ground; her son intervened, only to be punched in the face. Quinn was also recorded on CCTV assaulting his wife’s brother-in-law, strangling him and swinging him into a garden fence. On Christmas Day, still on bail for the previous assaults, Quinn returned to his wife's house, punched her and her son, and made threats via messages. He was arrested again in January 2023 after attempting to leave the country. Quinn pleaded guilty to multiple charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, and strangulation. He was sentenced to three years and four months in prison and received a restraining order against his victims.
