EASTBOURNE MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL GROOMING
Richard John Edwards, 33 years old, of Eastbourne, East Sussex was Sentenced on 11/10/23 for speaking to a 14-year-old child to arrange sexual gratification and to arrange to meet for sex.It turned out the child was a decoy in a sting set up by Predator Exposure – A Child protection service.
He was talking to who he believed to be multiple children and sexually inciting them to engage in sexual acts upon themselves whilst requesting and sending explicit images.
Richard John Edwards was sentenced to 18 month Prison which was suspended for 2 years along with Community Service of 80 hours unpaid work.
He will be put on the Sex Offender Register for a 10 year period and is subject to a Sexual harm prevention order, also for 10 years.
