RICHARD EDMONDS AND SHOCKING SEX CRIMES IN WILTSHIRE
A prominent auction house based in Wiltshire has issued a public update regarding its future operations following the incarceration of a former director on serious criminal charges.Richard Edmonds, who previously managed Richard Edmonds Auctions Limited as well as Chippenham Auctions, was sentenced to serve eight years in prison after being convicted on five counts of sexual activity with a female minor, whose identity remains protected by law.
The sentencing has prompted significant changes within the family-run business, which is located at Showell Farm.
Edmonds’ family has publicly addressed the situation, with his wife, Tora Edmonds, confirming that he has officially left the company.
In a detailed statement posted on Facebook, she explained the current management structure and reassured customers and stakeholders about the stability of the business.
Tora Edmonds stated, “Day-to-day management has been by my husband Richard Edmonds Jnr with responsibility for valuations, cataloguing and auctioneering.
I have been responsible for the customer accounts, marketing, and involved with the preparation of the catalogues.
Richard Jnr is no longer involved with the business nor a director.” She further clarified her new role, saying, “I now assume responsibility for the general management of the business in addition to my previous roles.
Richard Snr, his wife Margaret and daughter Sarah will continue to be part of the business.” The family expressed confidence that these changes will ensure the continued stability and soundness of the enterprise.
The auction house, which has been a fixture in the Wiltshire community, underwent a name change on Companies House to Showell Business Park Ltd in September, coinciding with Edmonds’ resignation as a director.
Despite this, the business still maintains its original Facebook page under the name Richard Edmonds Auctions Limited.
This case has cast a shadow over the local auction scene, raising concerns about the impact of Edmonds’ criminal actions on the reputation of the longstanding Wiltshire business.
The family’s public statement aims to reassure clients and partners that the company remains committed to its operations and community presence despite the recent upheaval.
