August 2006 PERVERT JAILED A MAN who sexually abused five youngsters while plying them with gifts including a trip to Disneyland was ordered to be jailed for a minimum of four years on Monday.

Evil Richard Eason, 55, preyed upon the five young girls, aged between nine and 12 years old, for a total period of four years.

Eason sexually abused the youngsters on a number of occasions.

He also groped the girls and took indecent photographs of two of the victims which he showed to one of the other children.

Eason would invite one of the children to help him with his sales job and indecently touched her in the street.

At Bournemouth Crown Court he pleaded guilty to 26 specimen counts of indecent assault, indecency with a child, making indecent images of a child, showing an indecent photograph to a child, sexual assault, sexual activity with a child and causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activities.

Prosecutor Frank Abbott told the court: “They (the children) are all very upset and traumatised and it has had a terrible effect.” When arrested Eason suggested to police that “the children had brought it on themselves,” added Mr Abbott.

Eason, from Bournemouth, also demonstrated a lack of empathy with what the victims had been through but told police and probation officers that he was “ashamed” of what he had done the court heard.

Judge John Beashel said some of the offences fell under the new Sexual Offences Act which allows Eason to be kept in jail indefinitely if the Parole Board decides after the four years that he is still a danger to the public.

He said: “You cynically took advantage of innocent children for your own sexual gratification which will be dealt with by a long prison sentence.

“It is such a bad case I am satisfied there is significant risk of you committing further offences and serious harm to members of the public.

“You are a real danger to young girls and the documents before me show how your disgusting behaviour has affected these young girls.” He ordered Eason to be made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order which bars him from living or working with children under 16 and having any contact with his victims.

Eason was also ordered to go on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
