In a disturbing development, Richard Dixon, a 47-year-old man from Ballymena with a known criminal past, was found to be operating as a chauffeur for a group of teenagers attending their school formal event. The incident occurred on a Friday night when Dixon was driving a stretch limousine filled with eighth teenagers from St Malachy’s College in Belfast, heading to their formal ball at Galgorm Manor in Ballymena.

Unbeknownst to the students, their driver was a convicted paedophile, a fact that has raised serious concerns among parents, school officials, and local authorities. During the journey, the limousine was involved in a collision with a Peugeot estate vehicle. The crash resulted in injuries to the eight students, aged 16 and 17, who were promptly taken to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, all of the teenagers were later discharged with minor injuries, but the incident has cast a shadow over the event.

Donal McKeown, the President of St Malachy’s College, expressed his shock upon learning that Dixon was behind the wheel. He stated,
