REZA HATAMI FROM RYDE ACCUSED OF FAILING TO REGISTER AS SEX OFFENDER IN PORTSMOUTH AND ISLE OF WIGHT
Reza Hatami, a resident of Green Street in Ryde, has found himself at the center of a legal dispute concerning his obligations under the Sex Offenders’ Register.The case was brought before Portsmouth magistrates on Monday, May 19, where Hatami, aged 42, faced charges related to his failure to adhere to the strict notification requirements mandated by law.
According to the charges, Mr.
Hatami did not register his details with the police within the prescribed timeframe.
Specifically, he is accused of neglecting to update his registration within 12 months of his previous registration date, which is a violation of the conditions set out for sex offenders.
The incident in question allegedly occurred on April 18, and the authorities assert that Hatami did not comply with the necessary procedures to keep his information current.
The court proceedings revealed that Hatami denies the allegations, maintaining that he did not intentionally flout the rules.
His case was adjourned to July 1 at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court, where further hearings are scheduled.
Until then, he has been granted unconditional bail, allowing him to remain free pending the next stage of the legal process.
