JAILED FOR FIVE YEARS AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OF FORCING A GIRL INTO ORAL SEX
A 22-year-old man has received a five-year prison sentence after being convicted of forcing a girl into oral sex during a trial held at Portsmouth Crown Court.
Rene Blankson, who resides on Ernest Road in Fratton, was detained and charged following an incident involving a 16-year-old girl in Fratton early on Saturday, July 20 of the previous year.
The teenager was walking along Fratton Road at approximately 1:15 am when an unfamiliar man began harassing her.
He proceeded to grab her and sexually assault her in the vicinity of St Mary’s churchyard.
The girl was able to break free and escape, then sought assistance from a passerby.
On May 1, 2025, a jury at Portsmouth Crown Court found Blankson guilty of assaulting a female aged thirteen or older through sexual penetration with part of the body.
He was sentenced on August 14 at the same court to five years in prison, with an extended license of three additional years, and was also issued a lifetime restraining order.
After the trial, Blankson was acquitted of other charges, including sexual assault and non-fatal strangulation.
