REHMAT ULLAH CAUGHT IN LONDON BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTING TEAM FOR SEXUAL GROOMING
In September 2018, a disturbing case unfolded in London involving Rehmat Ullah, a 45-year-old man who was caught engaging in online sexual communication with what he believed was a minor.Ullah, who is also known by the nickname 'Tazz', appeared before the court to face charges related to his inappropriate and illegal online behavior.
According to court reports, Ullah had initiated contact with an online profile he thought belonged to a child.
Over the course of their digital interaction, he sent highly sexual messages, clearly indicating his intent to engage the supposed minor in sexual acts or activities.
His communications were explicit and aimed at grooming the individual for sexual purposes.
Further complicating the case, Ullah arranged to meet the child, along with her 12-year-old cousin.
During discussions, he expressed a desire for his friend to participate in the alleged abuse, revealing a disturbing level of intent and planning.
However, the individual Ullah believed he was communicating with was not a real child but a decoy operated by Cobra UK, a specialized paedophile hunting team.
The team’s officers posed online as children to trap predators like Ullah and gather evidence of their intentions.
When Ullah arrived at the designated meeting spot, the team confronted him and questioned him about his online activities.
The police were subsequently called to the scene, leading to his immediate arrest.
The evidence collected during the operation was sufficient to secure a conviction.
Rehmat Ullah was sentenced to 15 months in prison for his actions.
In addition to his incarceration, the court imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his contact with minors and monitors his behavior moving forward.
Ullah was also ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
The court further informed him that upon his release from prison, he would face deportation, given his status and the nature of his crimes.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and specialized teams in London to combat online grooming and protect vulnerable minors from predators.
The use of decoys and undercover operations continues to be a crucial strategy in catching offenders like Ullah before they can cause further harm.
