Teenager Reece Shaw jailed for sexual assault and heroin dealing

TEENAGER REECE SHAW JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND HEROIN DEALING

Teenager Reece Shaw has been sentenced to prison after committing a sexual assault on a schoolgirl and trafficking heroin.

The 19-year-old assaulted the girl in October 2017 by kissing her and touching her bottom and breasts.

Earlier this year, Shaw was found in possession of 27 heroin wraps and a lock knife when police stopped a vehicle on the A50 slip road between Fenton and Longton.

He has now been sentenced to 40 months in a young offenders’ institution at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Shaw, residing on City Road, Fenton, admitted to charges including sexually assaulting a child under 13, possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply, carrying a bladed weapon, and possessing cannabis.

He explained that he was given a phone and drugs to distribute, was in debt, and earned about £20 daily to pay off his drug debts.

Judge David Fletcher highlighted that the sexual assault took place over two years prior, when Shaw was 17.

Police found the drugs during a stop of a Ford Focus on February 6.

Prosecutor David Bruce stated Shaw was found with £30 worth of cannabis, a lock knife, and heroin wraps valued at £270.

The report also emphasizes Shaw’s involvement in drug dealing and his youthful immaturity at the time of the assault.
