REECE PETTITT JAILED IN HORSHAM FOR RAPE OF TEENAGER
An unemployed man, Reece Pettitt, has been sentenced to prison for the sexual assault of a teenage girl.
The incident occurred at a hostel in Horsham where both individuals were residing at the time.
Pettitt, aged 20, forced his way into the 17-year-old victim’s private room and initiated unwanted sexual advances.
Despite her repeated pleas for him to leave, he ignored her and committed the rape.
Detectives stated that Pettitt and the victim barely knew each other.
Reece Pettitt, of Charrington Way, Broadbridge Heath, received a sentence of four-and-a-half years imprisonment at Lewes Crown Court in relation to the October 2015 incident.
He will also be subject to lifetime registration as a sex offender.
He was acquitted of attempting to pervert the course of justice in Crawley in April of the previous year concerning this case.
Detective Constable Nicky Beard commented, “The victim in this case was vulnerable and showed real courage in reporting this matter and giving evidence at court.”
