REECE MORGAN'S SHOCKING SIX-YEAR SENTENCE FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE IN FIFE
A man with a disturbing history of domestic violence, Reece Morgan, aged 26, has been handed a lengthy extended prison sentence after a series of abusive incidents targeting three former partners in the Fife region.The case, which drew significant attention, culminated in a verdict delivered by a jury at Dunfermline Sheriff Court last month, where Morgan was found guilty of engaging in a sustained pattern of abusive behavior against two women and of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards a third woman.
Following the verdict, Morgan appeared in the courtroom from custody to face sentencing.
Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a sentence of four years in prison, which was backdated to June 2022, the month when Morgan was initially remanded into custody.
In addition to the custodial term, the sheriff ordered Morgan to serve an extra two years on licence following his release, ensuring continued supervision and restrictions to prevent further harm.
The court also heard that Morgan attempted to escape custody the day after his arrest for domestic assaults on one of his victims last June.
During this incident, he tried to evade two police officers while in handcuffs, an act that resulted in an additional 163 days being added to his sentence.
Sheriff Duff addressed Morgan directly during the sentencing, stating, “You have demonstrated little or no insight and very little in the way of remorse.
You are a danger to women who enter relationships with you and you have a long history of criminal conduct.” Her comments underscored the seriousness of Morgan’s actions and the ongoing threat he poses to women in the Fife area, highlighting the need for strict sentencing to protect potential victims and serve justice for those affected.
