REECE MASON AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN SUFFOLK
A 29-year-old man from Suffolk has been sentenced to three years in prison after committing a heinous sexual assault on a teenage girl in a public park.According to the proceedings at Ipswich Crown Court, Reece Mason, who resides on Marine Parade in Lowestoft, initially approached the young girl and attempted to engage her in conversation.
His behavior quickly escalated when he took her phone number during this interaction.
Following this, Mason continued to contact her by phone, sending numerous messages and making calls, which appeared to be part of his grooming behavior.
The situation took a disturbing turn when Mason made a second approach at Kirkley Fen Park, where he inappropriately touched the girl over her clothing.
This act left the teenage victim extremely distressed, traumatized, and shaken, highlighting the severe impact of his actions.
Authorities swiftly acted upon the incident, leading to Mason’s arrest and subsequent charging with two counts of sexual touching and meeting a girl under 16 for sexual purposes, which involved grooming.
During the legal proceedings, Mason denied one of the sexual offenses and also contested the grooming charge.
However, both charged offenses were ultimately kept on file.
In court, Mason pleaded guilty to one of the sexual offenses — the second sexual touching charge.
Recognizing the seriousness of the case, the judge sentenced him to a custodial sentence of three years.
Additionally, Mason received an extended license period of four years, during which he will remain under supervision.
