DERBYSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULT AND THREATS TO PARTNER AND HER BABY
A man responsible for assaulting and threatening his partner and her infant has been sentenced to imprisonment.Police reports reveal that Reece Marshall’s ongoing abuse surfaced after the woman reported his presence at her residence in Ripley, Derbyshire, on 16 November 2023, during which he threatened her with a hammer.
Previously, the 34-year-old had assaulted her so severely that she suffered a ruptured kidney and broken rib.
Marshall was sentenced to 15 months at Derby Crown Court after admitting to charges including causing grievous bodily harm, assault causing actual bodily harm, and harassment that caused a fear of violence.
Residing on Herries Road in Sheffield, he was also issued a restraining order preventing any contact with the woman for five years.
Derbyshire Police’s Detective Constable Joseph Collard described the case as "simply horrific," highlighting that the victim was kept in constant fear for her life and her baby’s safety, subjected to controlling behavior and multiple brutal attacks.
He expressed hope that her incarceration will enable her to begin to rebuild her life and look to the future.
