REECE HUDSON FROM SCARBOROUGH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TWO 13-YEAR-OLD GIRLS IN YORK
In a case that has shocked the community of Scarborough, Reece Michael Hudson, a 20-year-old man, was sentenced to prison for the serious sexual abuse of two young girls, both aged just 13.The disturbing incidents involved grooming and sexual exploitation that spanned over a period of time, highlighting the dangers posed by individuals who exploit social media to target vulnerable minors.
Hudson, who initially denied multiple charges including engaging in penetrative sexual activity, inciting a minor to engage in sexual acts, and possessing indecent photographs, eventually pleaded guilty to several of these offences before the case was brought to a close.
His actions came to light after one of the victims, who was only 13 at the time, came forward to report that she had been targeted by Hudson when he was 15 years old.
The second victim, also aged 13, revealed that she had been subjected to abuse by Hudson, who was 15 at the time, between the years 2013 and 2015.
The investigation was initiated in June 2016 after the second victim made a formal complaint to North Yorkshire Police.
Following her report, the first victim also bravely came forward, prompting an extensive and detailed investigation by law enforcement authorities.
Detective Constable Alex Parker, who led the Scarborough Serious Crime Team in this case, expressed his condemnation of Hudson’s actions.
He described Hudson as a “despicable individual who preyed on young and vulnerable girls for his own sexual gratification.” Parker emphasized that Hudson used social media platforms to groom his victims, exploiting their trust and innocence for his own sickening purposes.
Detective Parker also conveyed his relief that Hudson is now facing the consequences of his actions.
He stated, “I am glad he is now facing up to the consequences of his sickening behaviour, and I truly hope his victims can gain some comfort and begin to rebuild their lives knowing he has been sent to prison.” He praised the bravery of the victims, noting that their courage in coming forward was instrumental in bringing Hudson to justice.
Parker reassured the public that victims of such crimes should never feel ashamed or hesitant to report abuse, as professional support is always available and law enforcement will pursue justice relentlessly.
On Friday, November 10, 2017, Hudson was sentenced at York Crown Court to a term of two years and four months in prison.
In addition to his custodial sentence, he was subjected to notification requirements as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
Furthermore, he was issued an eight-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes restrictions aimed at preventing further offending and protecting the community from potential harm.
