RAYMOND WILLAN FROM MANCHESTER SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF BOY IN ECCLES
A 75-year-old man from Eccles, Manchester, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after a lengthy and disturbing history of abusing a young boy.The offender, Raymond Willan, admitted to multiple serious charges related to his heinous actions.
Willan pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13, highlighting the severity and brutality of his crimes.
In addition, he confessed to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor aged between 13 and 16.
The court also found him guilty of possessing extreme pornography, further illustrating the disturbing nature of his offenses.
Described by investigators as the “worst kind of predator,” Raymond Willan’s crimes spanned over a decade, causing significant trauma to his young victim.
The abuse only came to light after the victim, demonstrating remarkable bravery, disclosed the long-standing abuse to authorities, revealing the extent of Willan’s misconduct.
The case was brought before Manchester Crown Court, where Justice sentenced Willan on March 12, 2024.
