'ATTACK' DEMO POLICE SWARM PROPERTY LINKED TO ‘SEX ASSAULT’ IN GLASGOW AS DOZENS OF PROTESTERS GATHER OUTSIDE
A crowd of several dozen individuals protesting against immigration gathered outside a property in Glasgow that is reportedly connected to an alleged sexual assault.Law enforcement officers responded to a residence located in the Royston neighborhood of the city, which was reportedly targeted by the demonstrators.
Visuals showed officers stationed outside a ground-floor flat, where a window is said to have been broken during the event.
The protesters, some of whom were using megaphones, assembled along Royston Road near the intersection with Springburn Road.
Videos from the scene depict a large group occupying the middle of the street, causing traffic to halt as police vans arrived to manage the demonstration.
Participants first gathered outside Royston Library at around 6 pm before proceeding to the targeted property.
Details about the protest were circulated on social media platforms.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Around 6 pm on Friday, 3 July 2026, officers attended a planned protest activity in the areas of Royston Road and Charles Street in Glasgow.
They engaged with the group, which later dispersed with no arrests made.” This incident follows the court appearance of a man accused of a sex attack in Glasgow.
Police responded on Tuesday, June 30, between 9 and 10 pm, after receiving reports of a sexual assault at a house in the Royston area.
Mohammed Raouf Mezahdi, aged 40, was apprehended and charged in relation to the incident.
Mr.
Mezahdi was scheduled to stand before Glasgow Sheriff Court the next day.
Police confirmed: “We received a report of a 36-year-old woman being sexually assaulted at a property in Royston between 9 pm and 10 pm on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident, and he is due to appear in court on Thursday, 2 July.”
