Randolph Ingham

Torquay Sexual Abuser

September 2007 Man jailed for child abuse photos A paedophile who photographed himself abusing a toddler and sent the pictures to another man who had asked for them has been jailed for six years. Randolph Ingham, 30, of Ben Jonson Close, Torquay, Devon, was caught in a Kent Police investigation into child abusers operating over the internet. He sent the images to Vincent Jordan, 47, of Wyre Drive, Worsley, Greater Manchester, who is in court in October. Ingham had previously pleaded guilty to 15 sex offences against children. They included sexual assault on a girl under 13, making indecent images of a child and distributing such images. He has also been ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life, and has been banned from working with children for life. ‘Gross and indecent act’ Ingham was arrested by officers from Devon and Cornwall Police on 19 January following intelligence from colleagues in Kent. They found more than 200 images and video clips of child abuse on a laptop computer. Some of the pictures were classified as level five, the most serious and horrific. Sentencing Ingham at Exeter Crown Court on Friday, Recorder Ian Pringle QC said he had committed a “gross and indecent act” which was not only for his “own gratification”. He said: “The purpose was to use those images which you took to swap with someone else in another part of the country in the hope of getting obscene images back from that individual. That makes it worse.” Vincent Jordan has previously pleaded guilty to a total of 20 offences and is due to be sentenced on 15 October at Maidstone Crown Court, in Kent. He communicated with Ingham over the internet and in October 2006 asked him to take pictures of himself abusing a toddler. Ingham took the photos on a camera phone and e-mailed them to Jordan. In mitigation, defending barrister Ruth Armstrong said Ingham was “genuinely shamed” and “truly remorseful” for his crimes, and was “seeking help… to get away from this behaviour”.
