RAMZY KAWBAL FROM MANCHESTER CONVICTED FOR ANIMAL ABUSE INVOLVING GERMAN SHEPHERD
Ramzy Kawbal, also known by aliases such as Ramzy Andrews and Ramzy Hassan, was born in October 2002 and resides at Apartment 153, 1 Kelso Place, Manchester M15 4LE.His recent conviction stems from a disturbing incident involving the mistreatment of a German Shepherd named Pyro, who was found with a fractured leg at his Manchester flat.
On November 23, 2023, authorities from the RSPCA responded to reports of animal cruelty at Kawbal’s residence.
An animal rescue officer visited his city centre apartment after receiving credible information that a dog was being physically abused on the balcony.
The footage played in court revealed a distressing scene: Kawbal, dressed in a black dressing gown, was seen repeatedly striking the terrified dog with the sleeve of his gown.
In the video, he is also heard chastising Pyro and shoving her into the corner of the balcony multiple times.
The footage captured the moment of the abuse, showing the dog visibly frightened and submissive.
Following the incident, the officer attempted to make contact with Kawbal by knocking on his door.
When there was no immediate response, a card was left requesting him to get in touch.
Kawbal eventually responded on December 1, 2023, and was interviewed by the authorities.
During the interview, he claimed that Pyro had fractured her leg after falling off the sofa and that she was in a crate in the bedroom because a veterinarian had advised cage rest.
Kawbal described Pyro as ‘clumsy, always falling into things,’ and mentioned that her injuries were costly, stating that the vet had recommended an X-ray, which he declined due to the expense.
He also told officers that Pyro had gone to the toilet on the balcony and that he was trying to clean up her mess, but she refused to move.
Kawbal admitted to attempting to give her pain medication, which she refused, and recounted an incident where someone shouted at him to stop hitting the dog.
He claimed he responded with confusion before realizing that he was being photographed.
The police later arrested Kawbal, and during the interview, he expressed frustration with training Pyro, citing her excessive barking at the time.
He admitted to losing his temper and acknowledged that the video footage showed her scared and fearful, conceding that he should have handled the situation more appropriately.
In mitigation, Tom Farr argued that Kawbal’s actions were a ‘brief lapse of judgment and competence,’ describing it as a moment where he ‘simply lost his temper.’ Farr also highlighted that Kawbal grew up in Yemen and suffers from PTSD, which was exacerbated on the day of the incident by hearing bombs going off in the background while speaking to his mother, who still resides in Yemen.
This distress contributed to his emotional state during the event.
As a result of his actions, Kawbal was sentenced to a £375 fine, along with £250 in court costs.
Additionally, he received a two-year ban from owning animals, which will expire in December 2026.

It is also noteworthy that Kawbal is a student studying International Business Management at Salford University.
In February 2024, he founded a company called P-AX Wellbeing Ltd, which specializes in producing wearable devices aimed at helping individuals suffering from anxiety, indicating his involvement in entrepreneurial activities despite his recent legal issues.
